Reports to: School Prevention Coordinator
Employment Status: Non-Exempt/Full Time
Salary Range: $38,000 – 40,000
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Associate’s Degree in a related field and 2 years of experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in related human service field in psychology, addictions, social work, education, human services, social science or related field is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in public relations and speaking, communication, program development/implementation and organization.
- Comfortability commuting up to 40 miles from the greater Utica area.
- Capable of working in an academic atmosphere.
- Established knowledge of local community and accessible resources preferred but not required.
- Current and valid NYS driver’s license.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide prevention education to students, staff and community members adhering to evidence-based practice primarily in an academic setting.
- Develop and provide community and school based presentations, events and activities related to prevention or agency services as requested.
- Establish and build relationships with school districts including administration, students and staff.
- Comfortable working with students aged k-12 as determined by school placement.
- Actively participate in department, agency, local, regional and state meetings or trainings as requested.
- Assist with completion of programming related to the OASAS work plan and compile program data in accordance with the evidence-based program fidelity and guidelines.
- Accurately and effectively collect data and report quality outcomes of services as requested.
- Conduct pre and post survey data collection measures in accordance with evidence-based programming fidelity and guidelines.
- Attend community-based events as needed year-round.
- Provide education and awareness for website, social media, prevention monthly newsletters, virtual and in-person presentations and trainings.
- Provide information and provide referral for further services and supports both internally and externally.
- Become familiar and well versed in community agencies and supportive services.
- Perform other duties as requested.
