On February 3, 2026, the Center for Family Life and Recovery (CFLR) proudly recognized Stand Up For Recovery Day (SURD) — a day dedicated to honoring recovery, reducing stigma, and uplifting the power of community.
CFLR was honored to be present in Albany, standing alongside individuals, families, providers, and advocates who believe what we know to be true: recovery is REAL and possible for everyone.
Year after year, SURD demonstrates what happens when people show up for one another and invest in connection, care, and hope.
By the Numbers: Recovery in Action
The impact of Stand Up For Recovery Day 2026 was powerful and measurable:
- 63 recovery-focused meetings were held
- 625 individuals gathered in support and solidarity
- Overdose deaths have decreased by 30% statewide
- At least 1,800 lives have been spared
These numbers represent more than statistics.
They represent conversations.
They represent second chances.
They represent healing.
They represent lives moving forward.
The Power of Community and Compassion
Every meeting held, every person who attended, and every life spared is proof of what happens when stigma is replaced with compassion and access to care is expanded.
At CFLR, we see the power of recovery every day through prevention services, peer support, advocacy, family support programs, and community education. Stand Up For Recovery Day is a reminder that while we gather to honor progress, the work continues far beyond a single day.
Today we stand up for recovery. Tomorrow, we keep doing the work.
When There’s Help, There’s Hope
We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who walks this path with us — individuals in recovery, family members, community partners, advocates, and supporters. Together, we are building a future rooted in wellness, dignity, and possibility.
Because when there’s help…
there’s hope.
