Voices of Hope
What Our Clients Are Saying About CFLR
We have unfortunately had to use the post-incident counseling service three times. One was an event that happened on site that was disturbing for the employees in attendance when it happened, one was due to a staff tragedy, and one was in the aftermath of the tornado. The service provided much needed external support and validation that is far beyond our internal capacity. In addition, employees have appreciated having the EAP counselors available to help them through difficult times in their personal lives. While we as an employer care deeply about our employees, we are not qualified to provide these services directly. Partnering with CFLR, a local non-profit, has been a sound investment in our employees.
Peer Alliance gave me the skills, confidence, and professionalism that I needed to step into this role as a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate. This program gave me the chance to find my career path here at the Center for Family Life and Recovery. Through the training and mentorship, I learned how to apply my knowledge that I gained from Peer Alliance. Now, I am here supporting our community that is building stronger connections and unity.
CFLR Family Support Group has taught me so much about addiction, the persons suffering from addiction and myself. I have learned coping skills and techniques to help ease my constant fears and worries. This group is a safe, confidential, welcoming and non-judgemental place where I feel comfortable sharing and learning with caring people. I would encourage anyone in a similar situation to join this group. It has given me the ability to live in the present and enjoy life again.
