
Center for Family Life and Recovery, Inc.’s Compeer Program fosters good mental health and increased social skills by matching community volunteers in supportive mentoring friendships with at risk youth, adults, seniors, and veterans receiving mental health services in Oneida and Herkimer Counties, NY.
Volunteering with Compeer is a rewarding way to give back to the community and bring positivity and hope into the life of an individual in need. Just one caring friend is life changing for an individual striving for mental wellness.
Mentoring opportunities include:
1:1 Friendship - Volunteer is matched with a youth or adult in a 1:1 supportive friendship
Lunch Buddies - Volunteers join youth for lunch during school hours or on the weekends
Vet2Vet - Volunteer veterans are matched with client veterans in a 1:1 supportive friendship
Compeer calling - Volunteers communicate with match or individual on the waiting list via phone
E-Buddies - Volunteers communicate with match or individual on the waiting list via email
